Rather, they're recollections of DKHT and friends whilst on various quests, when quenching thirst from a days' hard ride led to discovering favorite wines and spirits, most available online. In addition, we look for wineries and facilities that offer tours and tasting opportunities, so when you're on vacation you may want to stop in, see how your favorites are made, and get a chance to sample new choices. Comments: I was down in Florida a few years back, visiting with relatives. I had driven down with my mom to check out different retirement for her and RV communities for me. On they way between some of these specialty communities I discovered the Central Florida wineries, most of which specialize in Florida fruit wines and variations. Most folks don't realize that from north to central Florida, the state has a "spine" that forms the highest elevation of the region. Usually known for it's extensive citrus fruit groves, it was a delight to stumble across this wonderful winery sitting in the middle of vast grape arbors. The main visitors area is styled on a cross between a Spanish and Mediteranian architecture.
The center has a huge tasting bar and serves as the gathering point for the tours, which all end in a tasting, if you're so inclined. The staff is eager to assist you in understanding the differences in the wines they offer and provide a very inciteful tour. Highly recommended by yours truly.

Comments: While visiting relatives near Tampa I remarked about the fine Lakeridge Wiery I accidently discovered near Clermont. FL. My sister and brother-in-law are avid explorers of their greater Tampa/St. Petersburg home area, and immediately suggested taking a trip to a winery they discovered over in St. Petersburg on Tampa Bay.
