Comments: I try to watch my health and eating habits and have adopted prudent standards in reducing heavy carbohydrate intake and balancing my food groups (mainly because I have to support my doctor's wife and kids and fix his Ferrari and his wife's Beamer, as well as keep his pharmaceutical stock investment prices high)...this stuff never occurred to me back in my college years when we binged on pizza and pitchers of lager and sub sandwiches and forced three all-you-can-eat smorgasbords out of business. Sigh! Those were the days!
 
One of my local grocery stores used to carry Dreamfields low-carb pastas, albeit in limited varieties. They also carried sugar-free products such as salad dressings, canned fruit and jams and jellies. Somewhere along the line the store manager decided that the profit was too low to provide products for the low-carb and diabetic community.
 
A quick Google search yielded a number of online sources for what I wanted. Netrition seemed to fill the bill, having an extensive variety of products in an equally extensive variety of food and nutrition disciplines. I was pleased to find the Dreamfields pasta product line, as well as sugar-free products that can help you control your blood glucose levels. But, They also offer high-carb and high protein products and vitamin supplements. Learning to live without refined flours is tough, but this site offers several alternatives. But, be warned, some of the suppliers occasionally overrate the quality of their goods. Yet most of the low carb items listed below have been personally tried. I usually don't provide product ratings, but on low carb products that I've tried, I'll provide a 1-5 star rating. In fairness, products that I'm not fully familiar with just won't have a star rating.
 
Netritional's website is newly redesigned and a HUGE improvement over the previous site. The product prices are comparible with what I used to spend locally. The really great thing about using this site is that they keep the shipping costs very reasonable. And shipping is prompt and always well packaged.
